A mild and efficient method for the synthesis of 4-amino-3(2H)- pyridazinones from their corresponding 4,5-dichloropyridazinones under microwave-assisted conditions is described. A series of novel chitin synthesis inhibitors, benzoylphenylureas containing the 3(2H)-pyridazinone, were synthesized. The biological activity of these target compounds was evaluated.
